With your help, no senior needs to go without food.
Far too many frail seniors are unable to prepare meals for themselves. Tucked away at home, out of sight, they are vulnerable to illness, weakness and medical complications arising from hunger and poor nutrition.
Langar on Wheels is a response from PCHS. We buy the ingredients for meals that are familiar and comforting to South Asian seniors, and prepare it according to the dietary needs of each person. Then we deliver fresh, hot nutritious meals to their home.

Elderly members of our community need your help!
Since 2011 PCHS has delivered 299,477 meals to frail seniors. But PCHS urgently needs to scale up the program, to serve the hundreds now on our waiting list.
This program is not funded by any level of government. Every day we deliver to at least 50-60 homes. But we need your help to buy food, pay drivers, and scale up to ensure that as many seniors as possible get the nutrition they need.
Why Langar on Wheels?
Many families are struggling to survive and cannot provide all that their parents need.
Many seniors have no family close by.
Frozen foods are not as healthy or appealing. Seniors who depend on those do not eat properly
Traditional meals-on-wheels programs offer foods that are daunting and unappetizing.
Illness and frailty leaves people unable to do the cooking they once did for themselves.
Many are physically unable to visit the langar, or are self-conscious about admitting their need in public.
Home delivery of the appropriate good food responds to all those challenges – just one way that PCHS supports older community members, and promotes independence and healthy aging. But we need your help.
